On 31st January, one of our Teaching Assistants, Traci jenkins(Hissey) took the very brave step of having her hair cut off in aid of cancer charitites.
The hair will be used by the Little Princess Trust and made into a wig for a child who has lost their own hair due to cancer treatments.
The children and staff were asked to wear a silly hat for the day to help raise funds for St Michael's Hospice and Cancer Research. We also held a raffle and cake stall.
We had lots of fun and Traci had a great deal of support from friends and parents who came to see her have her hair cut. Our year 5 and 6 classes also watched - we have never known them so quiet!
So far from all the parent and staff donations, cake sale and raffle - we raised just over £500. In total Traci expects to raise just under £1,000 which is an amazing result.
Well done Traci, and thanks to everyone for your really generous support.
