Each Term we take part in a Learning Walk at the School. We spend a morning or an afternoon looking in detail at a topic linked to the Raising Achievement Plan. Our walks are planned and usually begin with an introductory session with the head teacher or another member of the senior leadership team.
We then move to the area of the school we are spending time with, either key stage 1 or 2 and look at the children, teachers and support staff at work. We have the opportunity to ask questions, talk to the children, look at their work and gain an even greater understanding of the teaching and learning which is taking place.
At the end of the walk itself, we come together and meet with the head to discuss what we have seen and heard and to ask any questions. Following our walk we always write a report which is always discussed at our next Full Governing Body Meeting.
