Full School Closure 23 - 29th November inclusive.
St Mary’s Primary school in Credenhill has closed due to the pressures caused by COVID-19 on staffing.
Herefordshire’s public health team are working closely with the school and swift action has been taken to reduce the risk of transmission.
Rates of COVID-19 are high in Herefordshire. We encourage everyone to take steps to prevent the spread - regular testing using rapid lateral flow tests (LFD) for people who don’t have symptoms including testing before going into busy, crowded situations or visiting somebody who is vulnerable, wearing a face covering in crowded areas and keeping socially distanced.
It is vitally important for people to stay vigilant for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. We would like to remind parents not to send their child to school if they are unwell and have any of the identified coronavirus symptoms. Anyone who has a fever, persistent dry cough, or loss or change in their sense of taste or smell should stay at home and call 119 or go online to arrange a PCR test. Children with symptoms should not attend school while waiting for a PCR result.
If your child (or anyone in your family) tests positive for COVID-19, it is important to respond to NHS Test and Trace and provide details of close contacts. This will enable those that are required to self-isolate to do so quickly, and close contacts who are not required to self-isolate to be informed and asked to get a PCR test as soon as possible. Due to the high likelihood of household transmission, we are additionally advising parents to keep children who are a household contact of a positive case off school until they have had a PCR test and then do daily LFD tests.
