JUST FOR FUN

We have lots of dandelions around us at the moment:

 

Tom thinks you get a yellow flower, it then goes to seed which means you can then blow the puff ball and blow away the seeds.

 

Harry thinks they are separate - you get some yellow flowers and some seed heads on the same plant.

 

Who do you agree with? Why? Do you have any dandelions in your garden - go and look closely at these fascinating weeds - suddenly we start to see beauty all around us in the most unlikely of places.

 

I read this the other day and thought it was beautiful...

 

The dandelion is the only flower that represents the 3 celestial bodies of the sun, moon and stars. The yellow flower resembles the sun, the puff ball resembles the moon and the dispersing seeds resemble the stars. The dandelion flower opens to greet the morning and closes in the evening to go to sleep.
