Armed Forces Covenant - Employer Recognition Scheme - Bronze Award

We are the proud bearers of an Army Covenant Bronze Award. This was presented to us in 2024.

We currently have approximately 40% of our children that come from Military homes and we are proud of the work we do alongside Hereford Garrison. We have a dedicated pastoral lead who works with our military children once a week. Her role is to help new children settle into life at St Mary's as well as supporting those that move to new schools.

At St Mary's we also offer pastoral support for both parents and children as and when needed. Mrs Simmons works in school daily and is a military wife herself.

These services come in the form of:

* 1-1 sessions if needed with our Service Families Pastoral Support Lead

* Coffee morning/afternoons

* SEN/SENCO support and advice

* Great links between the Military and School
* Charity days, for example Help for Heroes/Red White & Blue Day/Armed Forces Day (during June), organised by our children.
* Partnerships with other local Schools to share best practice.
