Symptom Check List for Parents - September 2020
15/9/2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
Re symptom checker
I am writing to you in respect of the Symptom Check List document that was released recently (see below), in regard of whether or not to keep a child home dependent upon the symptoms they are displaying.
As a general rule of thumb we ask you to keep your child home if they are generally unwell as a few days at the start of an illness at home, being allowed to recover, will often result in a far speedier recovery than if the child struggles in school whilst trying to shake off the illness.
I am sure you will appreciate that in these worrying times with Covid 19 infection rates rising rapidly we will, in the interest of the safety of the school community, simply send a child who is unwell home.
Please help us keep everybody well and safe by showing consideration and not send your child to school if they are clearly unwell.
Thank you for your co-operation in our efforts to keep children and staff well.
Kind regards,
Bernie Davies

Dear Parents and Carers,
Just to say how proud I am of how well the children (and staff!) have settled back into school. There will always be some gremlins but overall it has been a smooth start back to term!
I would also like to say a huge thank you to parents for sticking to the collection times set as this has really helped to speed up the process! Thank you to our wonderful team also for their speedy response in getting the children to you!
I know over the coming weeks there is going to be doubt over whether to keep a child off or not due to them being unwell. Mrs Jones and I have worked with our health and safety advisor to produce the attached table which should help us all decide whether a child/or staff member should be at home or school. The overarching principle is when you are not sure to keep them home.
Over all a great first week back! We are still in the midst of a pandemic and your words of support and kindness have touched us all, thank you.
Kind regards,
Mrs B Davies and Mrs Jones
